Be Focused – on Heaven!
Colossians 3:1-4
Ephesians 6:11, 12
Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes; for our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
How does a believer stay focused in this confusing world? God’s Word suggests the following things to do:
1. Seek Heavenly Things
Colossians 3:1
If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God.
2. Set Your Mind on Heavenly Things.
Colossians 3:2
Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth.
Proverbs 4:23
Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life.
3. Remember What Happened to You.
Colossians 3:3
For you died; and your life is hidden with Christ in God.
I Corinthians 6:17
The one who joins himself to the Lord is one spirit with Him.
I Corinthians 2:14
The natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God; for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them because they are spiritually discerned.
4. Anticipate What WILL Happen to You.
Colossians 3:4
When Christ, who is our life, appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory.
Ephesians 2:6
God…raised us up together and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus.
